Night Security is a psychological horror game developed by Chilla's Art and published by Chilla's Art. It was released on Steam for Microsoft Windows on June 17, 2023.
Synopsis[]
Night Security | 夜間警備 is a Japanese psychological horror game about night security.
Gameplay[]
Prologue[]
The game starts with Keigo Ochigi waking up in his house. He notices a calendar marked October 22 and pulls the sheet down for it to read October 23 which is his daughter's birthday for the next day. He then walks around and notices a drawing of him and his family and a birthday cake in the fridge. He then heads to the closet to change. He notices his wife still sleeping. He also goes into another room and notices his daughter. He then takes his keys and leaves his house. Keigo enters his car and drives off. The date is October 22 and his job is a Security Guard. It is raining outside, but he has no umbrella. But nonetheless, he enters the place.
Floor 1[]
Keigo arrives at Floor 1. When he enters, he notices a person walking. He heads inside the office and notices a note with a list of tasks. (Note: Keigo can also spot all around the building and look for Chilla's Art Corporation Cards. Collecting all of the cards will grant the player an achievement). The tasks tell him to check the fire alarms, lock the doors, turn off the lights in the bathroom, and send people home. So, Keigo decides to do all the work. He notices another note in another corner of the room which tells him to check the clock, surveillance monitor, and the security details. Keigo checks on the CCTVs and notices some people are still there. He then proceeds to go around and lock all the doors. First, he enters an office room that is completely dark. He enters another office room and notices a man drinking soda next to a whiteboard. He tells him that he is the new security guard and that he will forward the subordinates the next day. He then leaves the room. He exits the office and goes into the bathroom. Keigo exits it and continues walking. He hears a creaking sound and has to hold the doors to unlock them for next time. Now that he has finished, he decides to take the elevator to proceed to the next floor. He then goes in the elevator.
Floor 2[]
Keigo arrives at Floor 2. While he walks through the corridor, he opens up a door and sees a woman standing there. Keigo comments on how cool she is. Turns out the woman is his wife. They decided to give their contact information to each other and then they say their goodbyes. As Keigo continues to investigate, he checks the abnormal lights which shine red meaning that there is no abnormality. After this, he notices a television which shows static. Inside the TV, it shows a computer with a random person typing something on it. Afterwards, Keigo leaves for more investigation to be done. He hears a loud banging coming from somewhere inside the ofiice, but nothing is in sight. Keigo opens the door and enters another room. In this room, he does some investigating. Afterwards, he exits the office and locks all the doors. But when he goes in one of the bathroom stalls to turn off the light, he notices a person inside the bathroom complain. The man asks Keigo to leave the lights on. Then, Keigo exits and gets in the elevator.
Floor 3[]
Keigo arrives at Floor 3. He starts his investigation here. He enters a room that is completely dark. He checks the light for no abnormality. He then enters another room with another television. This time, the TV shows someone typing on a computer that is completely filled with static. The voice inside the TV glitches and cuts. Keigo continues on with his investigation. After check all the abnormal lights and locking all the doors, he gets in the elevator. The first 2 doors open and close on their own before stopping. Keigo then gets in the elevator.
Floor 4[]
Keigo arrives at Floor 4 and begins his investigation. When he looks on his right, he notices that the printer is printing multiple copies of paper by itself and that paper is falling from it. On the left of the corridor, a light is flickering from above. He checks the light in a room. He opens another room where another light is flickering. Keigo also notices a man sitting on the chair. The man claims that the boss wants to complete the work he has before tomorrow morning. The man decides to go home. He gets up from his chair and leaves the room. While Keigo is investigating, he hears a ghostly noise in the corridor. He decides to replace all the lights that are flickering. Behind a door in the bathroom, Keigo sees a mysterious lady staring directly at him. But when he opens the door, the lady disappears. He goes and turns off the light. In the storage room, he finds many fluorescent bulbs in shich he can use them to fix the flickering lights from above. Keigo decides to close up and turn off all the lights in the rooms. After he is done with all that, he exits, locks all the doors, and goes in the elevator.
Floor 5[]
Keigo arrives at Floor 5 and begins his investigation. He notices that the corridor is dark and he decides to go and check into the Electrical Room. He decides to restock the power, but the fuse is missing, so he has to go and find it. When he goes into the corridor, he looks in front of him and sees a door with a red light shining from above. He opens the door and notices an abandoned room with a stream of blood. Keigo decides to follow it. It looks just like a maze. After some time following the trail of blood, he finally finds the fuse. He goes back and attaches the fuse. Keigo then turns out and looks behind him. There stands a woman with a red dress. The woman is Keigo's ex-wife. She then leaves the room and into the hallway. Keigo goes into the room and flips all the switches in there. The lights have turned on now. But when he tries to leave, the door is locked! He tries the other door and gets out. Keigo then opens up another room and finds another TV sitting on a table. The TV shows a sink running with someone washing their hands. Keigo finds a note lying on the table. It reads:
"...That moment was caught on the surveillance cameras. In a place like this...I can't believe she's... I'm quitting this job." -Keigo Ochigi
Keigo goes ahead and looks up at the security cameras. He checks on the first 6 floors. Nobody is in sight. But when he checks Floor 6, he notices 2 people talking with each other about Keigo with the fact that he's a security guard. Suddenly, the lights go out. The 2 people run out of the room into the elevator. The man trips and the lady leaves without him. The woman then runs into the 3rd Floor as all of the lights go out. Afterwards, blood splattering can be heard. Revealing that the woman was unfortunately killed. Keigo also notices that there are bloody footprints seen on the floor. Keigo leaves, locks all the doors, checks the lights, and goes in the elevator.
Floor 6[]
Keigo arrives at Floor 6 and begins his investigation on this floor. He notices a woman standing in a corner of the wall with blood smeared all over the floor. She has to clean up the bloody mess off the floor. When Keigo enters a room, he notices chairs being piled up on the side of the wall before knowing the chairs are placed everywhere on the sides of all the walls and some being placed on top of the tables, too. While he continues his investigation, he notices sax music playing on the radio. Keigo then locks all of the doors, check the lights, and goes in the elevator.
Floor 7[]
Keigo arrives at Floor 7. He notices that all of the switches on the elevator are missing. He has to go find them all. The entire corridor is completely dark with the doors missing in the rooms and that it is blocked off with road construction barriers. When Keigo enters another room, he notices multiple dolls everywhere that look just like Slappy from the movie Goosebumps. He continues his investigation and climbs up a ladder. There, he finds the missing switch. He continues searching around all the rooms. He climbs up another ladder in another room and finds another missing switch. Keigo finds the final 2 missing switches on 2 other ladders he climbs. He then goes back to the elevator and attaches all the switches on it. Keigo looks behind him and notices all the Slappy dolls have now moved in front of the corridor and are now staring at him. He then goes in the elevator. A Slappy doll tries to break open the door but doesn't succeed as Keigo escaped just in time.
Floor 8[]
Keigo arrives at Floor 8 and begins his investigation. As he goes, he notices a soda can rolling on the floor and the door to the right at the end of the hallway closes meaning that the can rolled all the way from there. The door creaks as it closes shut. Keigo notices that the rooms are once again completely dark. He continues investigating in the rooms. He locks all the doors, checks all the lights, and goes in the elevator. But when he checks the lights in the bathroom, he hears a woman crying inside one of the bathroom stalls. She blames herself because it's her fault. Suddenly, the light inside the bathroom goes out. When Keigo closes the bathroom door behind him, a loud smack on the bathroom door is heard, leaving a bloody handprint on it. He goes and continues to lock all the doors and safely goes into the elevator without further incident.
Floor 9 (The Nightmare)[]
Keigo arrives at Floor 9 and begins his investigation. During the investigation, he hears a loud moaning sound coming from somewhere inside the corridor. He opens a door leading to a room and notices that the chair is spinning clockwise on its own! A creaking noise is heard in the room. Keigo opens up another room and notices a man lying on the floor. He helps him get back up to his feet. The man then leaves the room. He continues investigating. He locks all the doors and checks the lights. After that, he goes down a mysterious maze and presses the button 3 times to obtain an emergency exit key. After that, a ghostly and nightmarish sound is being heard somewhere in the maze. The sounds were coming from the mysterious lady who is now revealed to be the Red Eyed Monster of Keigo's ex-wife. The entity then turns back and walks away. Keigo decides to follow her to see where she is going. He goes to the right of the corridor and opens the door. It reveals stairs and a door for Keigo to go through.
Floor 10 (The Nightmare)[]
Keigo arrives at Floor 10 through the stairs. But when Keigo opens up another door, everything in the rooms have unexpectedly been flipped upside down and that blood is scattered over all of the walls! The same thing went for all the other rooms, too!!! Also, the whiteboards have been drenched with blood! Keigo goes and locks of the doors before going into the elevator.
Floor 11 (There is no escape)[]
Inside the elevator, the elevator's walls and the doors are completely drenched with blood! Then, all of a sudden, the elevator starts shaking. The switches aren't working, weird noises are heard inside the elevator, the elevator is going a long way down which makes it go completely haywire. Finally, the elevator stops at Floor 11. Keigo exits out of it and notices Japanese words written on the walls. He finds a TV which shows his wife on there. His wife steps back into the void. Suddenly, the Red Eyed Monster appears in front of Keigo and shrieks at him, jump scaring him. The lights turn on with a crimson red color and that everything is completely drenched with blood. Things are definitely starting to go strange. Keigo enters a room where he notices a clock that's missing its clock hands. Keigo decides to clean the stain off the clock lid. He goes into the bathroom, fills his hands with water, and cleans the clock lid with it. Keigo then goes back and places the clock hands on the clock with the time showing 9:30 P.M. Keigo then goes and finds a box with a combination lock on it. He must turn the big roulette to 60 and the small roulette to 90. That's when the box opens up with a videotape inside it. Keigo takes the tape and goes on. He notices that the VHS Tape player has no cable, so he decides to find it. However, when he opens up a locker, he notices the corpse of a man with no eyes inside! There, in the man's pocket, Keigo finds the cable. He attaches the cable to the VHS Tape player and the TV. He then puts the tape inside. This time, the TV shows a room with a recorder. Keigo hears an eerie noise in the audio. The door creaks all of a sudden. It cuts to many different scenes until it shows Keigo's ex-wife standing in front of a door with blood scattered all over the walls!. Then, the TV cuts back to static. Keigo says that he has had enough and decides to leave immediately. Upon this point, the player is left to determine the outcome of the game.
Endings[]
Ending #1[]
Keigo tells himself that he should get out of the building. If Keigo opens the door and just stands there, he will get attacked by the Red Eyed Monster who stands in front of him, approaches him, and attacks him. Keigo rushes through the rooms and down the stairs, but the entity appears in front of him and Keigo ends up falling down the stairs. The Red Eyed Monster then dismembers and kills Keigo. During the end credits, the game rewinds back to where Keigo had left his house and gotten into his van. It is revealed that he is just getting started. He never entered the building at all. It was all just his imagination.
(*It is likely that some people that have played this game before know that the protagonist in the game was Keigo Ochigi the whole time while other people read off the wiki*).
Ending #2[]
Keigo tells himself that he should get out of the building. Keigo rushes through the rooms avoiding the entity, but instead of going down the stairs, he instead takes a right and ends up running near a keypad to enter a 4-digit code. Keigo ends up inputting the code: 1, 0, 2, 3 on the keypad and rushes into the elevator. Keigo has escaped the nightmare. He ends up waking up in a hospital, and his daughter and wife rush into the hospital to see him. They were mourning about him being at the hospital. Suddenly, Keigo notices his ex-wife staring at him behind his wife and daughter from one of the curtains, ending the game.
